The plan has been the subject of continuing debate since Saturday.

Edward Kim wants to bring on three full-time L1 blockchain developers.
Proposal 11168, submitted by Edward Kim and Tobias “Zaradar” Anderson, two main developers of Terra Classic, is now up for a vote. There was a suggestion put out by ex-Terra Rebels developers to join a new team called the “Joint L1 Task Force” to investigate Terra Classic blockchain maintenance improvements and L1 layer innovations.

Core Terra Classic developer and professor Edward Kim tweeted on December 27 that the vote for his proposal 11168, “Joint L1 Task Force,” will soon begin. The plan has been the subject of continuing debate since Saturday. The general consensus now favors the idea being proposed.

Focus on Creative and Long Term Updates
The proposal said that there were 6-8 senior L1 blockchain developers working for Terraform Labs. To get things done in the next four to six months, Edward Kim wants to bring on three full-time L1 blockchain developers. Once the outstanding tasks have been completed, the team will shift its focus to more creative and long-term improvements.

Zaradar, Edward, and Till are just three examples of locals who would make up the proposed team’s core membership. The plan acknowledged the vital role they played in Terra Classic’s resurgence. A burn tax has been implemented, and staking and delegation have both been allowed again. Two junior developers and a part-time assistant are also needed.

For Q1 2023, the budget is $141.75k, which is equivalent to around 0.991 billion LUNC tokens. Payments will be dispersed on a monthly basis, but only after review and permission by the Oversight Committee and multisig participants from the Terra Grants Foundation.

The current tally of votes shows that almost all (99%) voters approve of the measure. Furthermore, the plan hopes to succeed before the allotted voting time ends. The proposal has been approved by 25 validators with 1 abstaining.
