Several prominent figures in the digital asset business are questioning the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) recent legal actions. The head of the SEC and other authorities have stayed mum on the matter.

In an interview, Hester Peirce, a commissioner at the SEC, declined to address questions concerning specific actions taken by the agency. “I just can’t answer that,” the Commissioner said when asked whether there had been any incidents at the SEC about which a whistleblower may come forward.

XRP holders’ lawyer in the Ripple vs. SEC case, John Deaton, poked fun at this remark. There are no restrictions on the SEC commissioner providing a response, as stated in a Twitter discussion.

Never Ending Resolution
He continued, saying that Peirce may maintain her innocence by saying she is not implicating anybody in wrongdoing. However, asking questions about some disagreements can’t hurt. The commission may get insight from any potential legal violations or oversights.

The attorney for XRP said that Empowers watchful eye secured Hinman’s ethics email. The SEC commissioner’s statement that Hinman and Clayton acted ethically was emphasized. Ripple and other defendants are attempting to provide papers relating to the Hinman’s speech.

As for the SEC Commissioner, Deaton claims he has been praising for almost two years. He praised her for standing up to the crypto space clarification offered by Jay Clayton and SEC head Gensler. The XRP legal team has said that they have used Peirce’s statements as evidence.

Deaton further noted that there is no moral or legal barrier to their demanding an investigation. But if Hinman and Clayton are ethical, then that’s the way it has to be.
