DeSantis – the Republican candidate for President of the United States – has been one of the most vocal supporters of crypto among all the candidates. Most recently, he published a report titled “Declaration of Economic Independence,” which discusses America’s current problems and his proposals for solving them. Lowering taxes, reducing social inequality, making the cost of living more affordable, curbing illegal immigration and many others will be his main focus if he emerges victorious after next year’s election. DeSantis promised to strengthen the US banking sector (which went through a major crisis earlier this year), calling for “clear language on shadow banks to increase transparency and better control systemic risks.”The Florida governor also promised to replace Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell with someone who “supports a stable dollar instead of today’s political pressure.”“The Fed should focus on stable prices; it is not a social engineer and should not be the central planner of an irresponsible economy. It’s no surprise (given his past appearances) that DeSantis has vowed to work against the eventual creation of a CBDC, blocking any Fed attempts in the field.
On the other hand, he promised to support the progress of the cryptocurrency industry and stop “politically driven bank bailouts and financial dox”.Biden’s ‘War on Bitcoin’ Is Ending Earlier this summer, DeSantis criticized current US President Joe Biden for his “war on Bitcoin”. He vowed to end this hostile approach when he becomes the country’s next political leader:“Biden’s War on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies Will End When I Become President.” He previously claimed that the only reason the government is against the crypto sector is because they can’t control it.
