A rapper and infamous crypto thief, who goes by the stage name ‘Razzlekhan,’ spotlighted her return to public life with a series of tongue-in-cheek social media posts.
Bathtime commentary
Speaking directly from the bathtub on 27 Oct, Morgan told social media followers on X:
“I wanna give a shout-out to papa Trump for making my 18-month sentence shorter.”
“Shout-out to papa Trump”
– Heather “Razzlekhan” Morgan
The artist, real name Heather Morgan, has also dubbed herself the ‘crocodile of Wall Street’ on the back of her misdemeanours. She received an 18 -month sentence in late 2024 for her role in laundering stolen funds after her husband Ilya Lichtenstein hacked cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex to steal 119,754 bitcoins almost a decade ago. He remains in custody.
“Crypto pardon season”
In post last week, Morgan contrasted Biden era law enforcement with President Trump’s clemency for offenders:
“Thanks to @POTUS – Biden’s war on crypto is officially over. Guess it’s crypto pardon season.”
Morgan was likely referring to Trump’s 21 Oct pardon of Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao, the founder of global crypto exchange Binance. CZ pleaded guilty of violating the Bank Secrecy Act through anti-money laundering failings at the company and completed four months in prison last year for the offence.
Attention-seeking
Morgan’s sentence seems to have been commuted at a similar time to CZ’s pardon, although while the US Department of Justice has published the document that exonerates the Chinese entrepreneur, no similar missive was produced about Morgan.
She has, nonetheless, capitalized on the drama by sharing a series of entertaining and artificially generated videos – including one of her performing in front of the White House.
Seized assets
The US government has proposed to put the assets seized from crypto crimes into a national strategic reserve, even while the Trump administration has been softening its stance on the felons themselves.
