President Donald Trump has raised a huge $236 million for his political campaign in the first half of 2025, according to new reports from the Federal Election Commission.
This massive amount leaves him with $274 million in the bank to help Republican candidates in the midterm elections. It is a record‑breaking sum for any president in a second term.
A big part of the money came from Trump’s super PAC called MAGA Inc., which collected $177 million. Trump held four expensive dinners where each plate cost $1 million, and another event where the cost was $1.5 million per person.
According to Bloomberg, these events brought in donations from rich business leaders, tech investors, and people in the cryptocurrency industry.
Trump Rakes In Millions from Crypto Moguls, Billionaires, and Tech Leaders
Billionaire Jeff Yass, co‑founder of trading firm Susquehanna International Group and a key shareholder in TikTok’s parent company, gave $16 million. Energy billionaire Kelcy Warren and his company, Energy Transfer LP, gave $25 million.
In the crypto industry, Foris DAX Inc., the parent of Crypto.com, added $10 million, while Blockchain.com gave $5 million. Tech investors Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz each pitched $3 million, while twin crypto billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss gave just over $2 million.
Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and owner of X social media, also donated. He gave $5 million to MAGA Inc. in late June 2024 and another $75 million to groups that support Republican candidates for the House and Senate. This came after Musk left his role in the White House in May and criticized Trump and Republicans over their tax and spending bill.
Republicans Sit on Cash Pile as Democrats Fall Behind
Meanwhile, the Democrats are far behind in fundraising. The Democratic National Committee collected $69 million in the same time, and their main super PAC, Future Forward, raised only about $1 million. Around 70% of Trump’s money came from people who gave $1 million or more. Smaller donations from people giving less than $200 slowed down to $22 million this year.
Trump’s other political groups, like Never Surrender, Save America, and Make America Great Again PAC, had $41 million left in June after spending $26.5 million. About $6 million of this went to legal costs.
It is important to know that the president is still fighting legal cases. He is appealing his 2024 conviction on 34 felony counts linked to payments to adult‑film actress Stormy Daniels. He also faces a $500 million civil fraud fine and owes $83.3 million to writer E. Jean Carroll for defamation.
