Cursor, an artificial intelligence (AI) company that seeks to “create a magical tool with the aim of writing all of the world’s software,” has announced it has raised $60 million in its Series A funding round. The round had the participation of Andreessen Horowitz, Thrive Capital, Openai, and many others, and gave the company a valuation of $400 million, according to people familiar with the deal.

Cursor has become the go-to app for AI companies like Openai to build prototypes and debug software. The company’s goal is to automate 95% of the code written by today’s engineers, allowing them to focus on the objectives of each project instead of on how to code it.
