Twitter has announced the new functionality for subscribers is ready as of today.
Long-form Tweets, up to 4,000 characters in length only available to Twitter Blue users.
It’s official: Twitter now supports longer messages of up to 4,000 characters. But they’re restricted to Twitter Blue users. Twitter has announced the new functionality for subscribers is ready as of today with a Tweet demonstrating the increased character limit.
Some Twitter users have long complained about the platform’s 280-character restriction, arguing that they should be given more room to express themselves. Now, the capability is available as part of Twitter’s Blue paid tier’s increasing set of options.
Enticing Twitter Blue Subscription
A focus on income generation for Twitter has existed since Elon Musk paid $44 billion to acquire the social media platform. In the beginning, it felt like the best approach to create fresh money would be to revamp the subscription service. On the other hand, the new administration has put a premium on improving Twitter Blue, and it has just released a major new feature as a result of this effort.
Long-form Tweets, up to 4,000 characters in length, are now available to Twitter Blue users. Features that are normal functionalities of Twitter, such as the ability to upload images, utilize hashtags, and make polls, are all still available in the updated version. The new service, however, will let one use up to four thousand characters.
When unveiling the new function, Twitter said that longer postings “can’t be saved as draughts or scheduled to send later.” In addition, the first 280 characters of the Tweet will continue to be shown, with a “Show More” option for reading the whole Tweet.
The post concluded by explaining that only Twitter Blue users have the ability to compose long-form Tweets, but that everyone has access to read and respond to them.
