It’s been 11 years since Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity remained a secret. The founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, has not spoken with the crypto community since 2011. But before he went, he had some last words to say to the world, which he did on April 26, 2011.

Satoshi’s last words:

“I wish you would stop talking about me as a mysterious shadowy figure. The press just turns that into a pirate currency angle. Maybe instead make it about the open source project and give more credit to contributors. It helps motivate them.”

On December 12, 2010, he sent a message to the Bitcointalk forum in which he said that the bitcoin network still needed improvement. In 2008, Satoshi unveiled the Bitcoin whitepaper and spent the next two years connecting with the community to explain the ecosystem to the general public.

WikiLeaks, a non-profit organization, said on December 11, 2010, that it would accept contributions in bitcoin since most other payment methods were unwelcome. In Satoshi’s opinion, the early adoption of bitcoin was not the best plan.

Satoshi said:

“No, don’t ‘bring’ it on. I make this appeal to WikiLeaks to not try to use Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a small beta community in its infancy. You would not stand to get more than pocket change, and the heat you would bring would likely destroy us at this stage.”

Bitcoin would have been a lot more different if it had the constant support of the creator, the father of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.
