The “Crypto Bowl” featured commercials for multiple cryptocurrency exchanges Sunday night. Coinbase, FTX, eToro, and Crypto.com all aired ads during the Super Bowl.

Coinbase kicked things off, airing a commercial toward the end of the first quarter that featured a screensaver-style QR code moving around the screen. While there were reports of Coinbase’s site crashing for some users, the QR code allowed viewers who don’t already have an account to claim $15 worth of Bitcoin. 

While the Super Bowl brought prominent crypto brands in front of new audiences, crypto’s growing presence in the mainstream market has been building even before these Super Bowl ads.
